Dodge Viper Trims
The Dodge Viper is a 2 seater sports car that definitely rates the distinction of being called a muscle car. The Viper went into production in 1991 while it was rumored that it would go out of production in 2010 Chrysler has announced that it would have a newly redesigned Viper available in 2012.
2010 Dodge Viper

Past Viper Trims
While the Viper started production in 1991 we will be starting our trim comparisons with the more recent model years starting with 1995.
In 1995 Dodge offered one trim for the Dodge Viper, the Viper RT/10 Roadster it came with a 8.0 liter V10 engine on a 2 door Roadster with a 96.1" wheelbase.
Starting with 1996 Dodge added the GTS Coupe 2 door to the Viper lineup. This had the same wheelbase and 8.0 liter V10 engine.
Dodge dropped the RT/10 viper trim in 1997 leaving only the GTS Coupe. The RT/10 trim was once again available in 1998.
For 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002 Dodge added a "competition" option to the Viper GTS Coupe
For 2003 Dodge dropped both the GTS Coupe and the RT/10 and added a new trim the SRT10 2 door Roadster. This new trim also came with the more powerful 8.3 liter V10 engine which remained the only trim offered for the Dodge Viper for the years 2003, 2004, and 2005.
For 2006 Dodge offered two versions of the Viper SRT10 a 2 door Coupe and a 2 door Convertible that came with the "First Addition Group" option.
Dodge didn't offer a Viper for the year 2007 but the SRT10 Coupe and SRT10 Convertible were both offered again for the 2008 model year. The model years 2008 and 2009 once again seen an increase in engine size with the Viper now having an 8.4 liter V10 engine.
