Dodge Durango Trims
The Dodge Durango is a full sized 8 passenger SUV introduced as a replacement for the Dodge Ramcharger. The 4.7 liter Powertech V8 engine (before the 2000 model year) and 5.2 liter Magnum V8 (model year 2000+) as well as optional engine upgrades, along with the towing package allows the Durango to tow up to 8,950 lb.

For the 2001 model year Dodge offered 4 trims the Durango Express RWD, Durango Heat RWD, Durango Crew RWD, and Durango R/T RWD. Each come with standard features to help with towing like rain brake support, trailer sway damping, and hill start assist. Some of the other 2011 safety features include multiple airbag positions like the advanced multistage front air bags, supplemental side curtain air bags, supplemental front seat-mounted side airbags and supplemental side curtain air bags in all rows.
Past Dodge Durango Models
The Dodge Durango was introduced in 1998 as the 4 wheel drive V8 powered SLT Sport Utility with 4 doors. There was an optional third row seat and two optional engines a 3.9 liter V6 and a 5.9 liter V8. For 1999 Dodge added a 2 wheel drive option to the Durango.
For the 2000 model year the 4 door Durango R/T Sport Utility was added to the lineup with an optional third row seat, 3 wheel drive, and 5.9 liter V8 engine. This continued through 2001 and in 2002 the SLT was dropped as the base model.
There were several changes in the Durango lineup for 2003 including the addition of the Durango Sport SUV, the SXT Sport Utility, the SLT was again offered as well as the R/T sport Utility with the third row seat, 2 wheel drive and 5.9 liter V8 options.
For 2004 Dodge offered the Durango ST, SLT and a new Limited Sport Utility with the optional third row seat, 2 wheel drive and engine options of a 3.7 liter V6 or the 5.7 liter V8. For 2005 Dodge also included a SXT Sport Utility.
For 2006 and 2007 Dodge dropped the ST and started offering the 5.7 liter HEMI V8 as an option for the Limited Sport Utility. Dodge added the Adventurer Sport Utility to the lineup for the 2008 model year.
For 2009 Dodge added a new Durango Limited with a standard Hybrid V8 Hemi with the optional third row seat. This was offered in addition to the Durango limited with the Optional 3.7 liter V6 and 5.7 liter Hemi V8.
