Past Charger Trims
While normally thought of as a muscle car the Charger has undergone many transformation in the past some models a subcompact, a hatchback, sedan, personal luxury coupe, and a roadster. For this comparison we will be starting recent Dodge Charger Platform starting in 2006
In 2006 Dodge reintroduced the Charger with 2 basic engine platforms. The Sedan 4 door and the SXT Sedan 4 door both came with a 2.7 liter or a 3.5 liter V6 engine. However you could upgrade the SXT Sedan to the V8 5.7 liter Hemi Engine. The R/T sedan 4 door and the SRT8 sedan 4 door both came with either a 5.7 liter Hemi V8 or a 6.1 liter Hemi V8. The SRT8 also came with two optional packages, the Daytona Edition and the Performance Group.
For 2007 a SE sedan was offered with a V6 2.7 liter engine or a V6 3.5 liter engine. Along with those two engine types the SXT Sport Wagon was offered with optional 4 wheel drive, a V6 HO 3.5 liter engine or the V8 5.7 liter Hemi Engine. The SRT8 also added the new Super Bee Special Edition.
For 2008 the Dodge charger offerings remained the same as for 2007 with the exception of adding an All Wheel Drive option to the SRT8 4 door sedan. The SE sedan trim was also removed going back to the standard sedan.
For 2009 Dodge stopped offering the 3.5 liter V8 Hemi as an option for the SXT sedan 4 door.
